whats best stall converter brand for lt1, or for my Z?

I would say the most popular/highly regarded converter companies on this website appear to be (in no particular order): Yank, Circle D, Vigilante, FLT and Edge. I am partial to Yank but I would never hesitate to run a stall from any of the companies above. My next stall will be either an FLT or Circle D as I'd like to try a competitor just for the heck of it and those two companies appeal to me the most.

i've used champ converters out of evansville indiana for years and have never had any problems. and they are a bit cheaper and can build anything you want..
i also have an edge converter thats a nice piece, was expensive though.

i did a poll a month back yank had over 60% of the votes over all others they seem to be the most popular i installed a ss3600 in my buddies 02 ss with 3.73 gears it drove almost like stock until you got on it when he was just full bolt ons he said the stall made the biggest difference
