I have been thinking it might be easier to use an f-body ls1 radiator/fans for the install into my 71 Nova to hopefully make it easier on finding hoses and just all around install.

Has anyone used one, and if so, any advice/tips to watch out for?

there's plenty of info on hoses for the nova radiator. i made it work with my lq4 with a little modification. The Taurus fan fits with minimal cutting. Smo's04Gto put the GTO radiator/elec fan setup in his 3rd-gen.

Thanks, I contacted him, but it seems pretty hard to find the gto radiator.

Does anyone know the overall dimensions of the f-body ls1 radiators? Seems it would maybe be too wide to keep the battery in the engine bay.....

you can see the width and if you look at the intercooler pic you can see how I stretched the lower mounts down for the radiator to drop it around an inch I think. Been a while so I don't remember exactly how much but it was no big deal as the radiator fits between the frame rails fine. I wouldn't think it would be too wide for the stock battery...in some of the pics you can use the factory holes as reference to see how wide the radiator is.
