It's sad and seems uncalled for, but I'm sure more will come up about this guys background. The trooper that was killed two weeks ago was the brother of one of my teachers.

Very sad, feel for the family......not to be a dick but i think suicide is the most selfish thing you can possibly do.

Another just happened here in philly: http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local-beat/Trooper-Charged-in-DUI-Killed-on-Day-of-Court-Appearance-96475584.html
Somewhat disturbing that people in an authority role have these issues. I can understand the potential reasons why, but disturbing none the less. I'm sure most might disagree but I do think this is an under appreciated - under paid job. You can only imagine all the b.s. these people must deal with day in - day out. Its sad and my condolences to the families but honestly at least the trooper in Jersey didn't endanger the lives of others, but driving head first into another car is inexcusable and appalling.

Pretty nuts...i was driving down 138/195 Sunday Morning when it was flooded w/ armed officers when the first trooper died...at that time I didnt know what the hell was going on. On the other side of the coin it makes you think about just how stable are these guys w/ so much power.
