Default Noise coming from rear area

There is a noise, not a squeak but more of a woomp woomp woomp sound, don't know how else to explain it lol, coming from the rear of the car. It's there all the time and is noticeably loud when driving slow but you can still here it over the exhaust when cruising. Is it just normal noise these cars make as they get older or is it some other problem like wheel bearings, rear, etc etc?

If you are stock, it's your rear. Mine did that and most of the bearings were gone. It sounds like your rear axle is on borrowed time and will probably need a rebuild soon.

Yeah its stock, seems to have gotten worse after multiple runs down the drag strip. It's only got 80,000 miles also. Anything I can do to prolong it, rear diff fluid change etc??

Only a matter of time no matter what you do if you are taking it to the drag strip... sorry my friend, but I'd start saving up for a beefier rearend.

I would have to say bearings... If thats the case, axles too.

Stay far away from Timken or any sort of repair kits...

Ill see if I can find my old threads and you can see if it sounds like your current situation.

Its worth checking it out yourself. Youll save a lot of money if its just axles/bearings.

Its much easier than it sounds/looks
