swaping in the th400, driveshaft modifying?

Default swaping in the th400, driveshaft modifying?

well ill be doing the swap this weekend. i dont want to waste the driveshaft i have now. t56/moser 9" length.... what needs to be done to the this to fit the short tail th400

Your driveshaft will have to be lengthen'd somewhere around 4 1/2 inches if I remember correctly.. It will also need a different yoke. The th400 has a much bigger output shaft and has more splines on it..
If I was you, (wich I was just in this situation a month ago) I would just sell your current driveshaft and buy a PST one or have one made..
By the time you get done paying someone to modify yours, you have basically spent close to the same amount as a new one and it's strength is questionable.

i bought a used steel one here and spent 150 on it plus 40 to balance it and replace the yoke
