Default having problems with brand new msd opti

had been on the car 2 days then went to the track. as soon as i run, this starts happening:

when im at wot and about 6k, it misses so bad the tach wont move. its been very on and off. under any other circumstance, it runs great. i called msd and they said if its not throwing a code for high ir low resolution, its not the opti.

any thoughts?

i also put silicon around where the wires go into the opti and a thin bead around the cap to seal it to the base

idk thats why im posting a thread. i kinda thought the timing may have been off when they made it so i asked msd how to set it back to factory settings. havent driven it since that yet. was kinda thinkin coil. its an msd blaster, been on there for
a year or 2, i guess. it does seem to get worse when its been running for a while

my coil and icm passed the tests on shbox's website but I replaced both anyway and that fixed my no-run problem.

assumeing your issue is not valve float....my MSD did crap at high RPM's also. MSD replaced it and I sold it. My original OEM opti solved the problem and is still on the 383

I stayed away from the MSD optis because of hundreds of stories like this. Cut your losses and get a new GM opti from Summit.

i am not familiar with these opti's but don't they have a timing adjustment... have you tired to play with that and see if it changes... could also be valve float... what plugs and their gap ?
