What a nice ride home...
Rain was horrible heading east down I-10 @ W BW8 around 4:30. I was driving too fast on the freeway at a whopping 15MPH... Visibility around 15 feet, tops.
I drive around with the cutout open bypassing the Borla and usually around 2K you can hear a considerable amount of rasp and pop. I was speeding up, as the further in town I drove, the less rain was falling, and I was in 3rd around 2K and it was gargling BAD. It was hesitating and popping and gargling; I was like WTF. I get home around 20 minutes later and what do you know, my air filter is sopping wet. I don't know how much, if any, made it through the filter, but I am pretty sure some did and was responsible for the hesitation and gargling.
Also, the nittos sucked *****. The rain was coming down so fast and flooded the highway so quickly, I couldn't go over 40 once it did clear up. Took another 3-4 miles down 10 for me to actually gain some speed. I felt like an *** blocking traffic as everyone else is trying to go around me doing 50-55-60 MPH and I am trying to get out of people's way. The car was just sliding back and forth with neutral throttle position, still sliding just coasting. Maybe they're getting bald-er because I have never had issues in the rain before, but it hasn't rained much here in Houston recently, at least none I have driven in for the past 3-4 months and the tires are getting around the 6K mile marker.
/ Rant

Its never been this bad, but then again, neither has the rain. I have driven in rain before with this intake setup and never had a problem, but when rain is over 50% of the atmosphere you are driving, the engine will get some, haha. Nittos aren't all that full of tread anyway.
