headlights motors on firebird
I just replaced the gears in both motors, but nothing happens.
Awhile back, they used to grind. I rotated the gear to used the the 180* of teeth. Well that had already been done, and it grinded the opposite way.
Then they just stopped working all together.
I tacked it up as it just needed the gears. Well it has new gears and they don't work, the motors don't even make a noise.
But I am wondering if maybe it needs a ground. I have a 96 TA and there is a wire/cable (looks more like a cable) that came undone, but that's not a ground is it? It's just a stop cable correct?

OK, I checked the fuse.
It works now. Turned out that during the time that I messed w/ the gears I shortly after did my CAI swap.
The air intake tube had the 'headlight opening actuator' screwed on it, but I took it off. I didn't know what it was, I thought it just measured air or something.
Checked out my Shop Manual and noticed that. Went to the attic and retrieved the actuator, plugged it in and the lights went down.
Ching! Ching!
My lights work, I am thrilled.
