Default a/c is not working

so my ac only blows out hot air so i thought id go get a recharge kit and take care of that. When i hooked it up it was WAY over full, so i drained it all out and put the right amount in. but it still never got cold. so i tryed it again drained it out and put more in. still nothing the compressor is kicking on but it just never gets cold. any ideas on what i should try. i dont think its a leak cause i never loss any refrigerant but the ac never will get cold.

Your AC system cannot magically get "overfull"

The little gauges on the cans of r134a are junk, you need a manifold gauge set to do any pressure testing. The can gauges and are just a guess of pressure based on cycling ac system. A non running AC comoressor wil show the static pressure of the system, which will respond to this chart value.

as long as you have any liquid refrigerant in the system.

When you say you removed the excess and recharged, did you use 2 full cans? (1.5#)
