Default a good buffer?

a buffer that spins 4400 rpms? is this a good speed?

thats plenty fast enough. i usualy buff around 1400-1800 with a wool pad a little faster with foam. i own a dewalt but def like the mikika (sp) better its a lot quieter and smoother

X2 on the Dewalt buffer , 1400 -1800 is all you need with todays compounds!!!

been using a mikita for 8 years not a problem other than brushes a broken trigger and handle. most of the stuff was when it got run over in the shop

Whatever buffer you choose, get one with a variable speed. That way you can fine toune it for what works for you. You'll likely not use speeds beyond 2500-3000 unless youre demonstrating how to burn holes in paint

I've had the same Makita for 10 years and it works like a champ.
