Default G body oil pan

I saw the Holley 86 El Camino build on Power Tour and was really impressed with what they did. Here is a link to thier site, sadly not all of the details are posted like exactly which pan they used. But I do like thier motor mount plates and use of the F Body Motorsports AC Compressor bracket.

I used the stock 5.3 pan and laid the car on it's frame (also airbagged). Took a piece of 1" square tube (acting as a 1" spacer from the ground) and marked around perimeter of the pan. Cut if off there and welded in a piece of 1/4" alum. Measured for new pickup depth and cut / welded it. Noted how much pan I cut off and removed that much from the stock dipstick. I lost about a quart but the truck pan is 6 quarts already I believe.
