Default 4l80e into 2nd gen f

Hey guys

Im almost at the stage of buying parts for my 2nd gen ls swap. Ive been looking at my different transmission options, and i have found a 4l80e close by and i have heard these things are pretty strong stock units. First off all, will it fit in the trans tunnel, and also Ive read that there needs to be an ECU to run the trans, ive never delt with computers in my car before, but would the transmission ECU be separate from the stock harness.

Thanks Mike

Yes it will fit in a 2nd gen fine (just saw one behind a 496 a few weeks ago). You can also run them full manual as well (not transgo -3 kit )

Baumann sell a nice full auto controller that works well also.

No. Only need a switch to operate lockup on the highway.
