are LT1s worth it expert advice or any advice welcome
So I went to Haddad motorsports, and he said LT1 are a bad car for daily driving . He told me to get rid of it and buy an ls based car, pretty much saying I'm not rich I can't afford the cost to have one, he doesn't know how much I make which isn't much ill tell u guys I make 1,200 every 2 weeks he owns a 95 z28 m6 as well but hes rich he owns the damn place. I'm just lost now that car is more valuable to me than anything personal reasons, he told me to sell it for w.e they give me. But I'm not going to. So I come to all u LT owners for advice. Should I keep my LT or swap it with the ls2. I don't want to sell my car. Just make it a powerhouse. Not that many ppl wanna touch or even tune lt1s in LA California.

Lsx is without ? is the better motor. If got the coin for a swap then you have the money to make a plenty fast lt1. Its whatever you want to do with your money. If you like the car, keep it and mod it.

I understand what ur saying about the 5.0 but I come from a family that drives Chevy I took over my grandfathers 74 Monte Carlo before he passed he made me promise to never drive a Ford or ricer till this day I havent. He worked for GM. He drove my car the day I bought it and he passed a week later reason y I'm never selling it. Is the swap a good deal?

If I were doing it over....and was starting from scratch I'd listen to Haddad .... LSX cars are pretty reasonable now and I could build a killer LSX for less than I have in my current vette... (My Vette is almost where I want it but there is much of the original drivetrain/suspension/fuel system, brakes...etc left)
However, its been my daily driver for more than 5 years...so as for being a bad DD he's wrong...but LTXt is no longer the performance bang for the buck.....

Keep the LT1, do some basic bolt ons like headers, exhaust, cold air intake, 1.6rr's and they will put down the same on the dyno/run very similar on the track. The mods will cost you 800-1500 depending on the parts you buy(new vs. used, stainless is more on headers&exhaust) and will equal the 45rwhp the LS car has stock.

dude for 9k ! thats like 9 grand for a stock 350 hp motor... you would still have to spend a few more grand to make it talk the talk... there is nothing wrong with the lt1 platform except the optispark which can be converted to a coil near plug ignition... My lt1 make close to 1000 rwhp and will stomp the **** out of almost any street driven ls1 car on here. Back in the day I wanted a ls1 car when they first came out, now they are just a dime a dozen... like a song that has been played out on the radio...

my lt1 started out as a cam, header, bolt on car with 4.10's and a 6 speed which made 380 horse power ( roughly ) and it was plenty for a dd that was a drive anywhere car and was a blast to drive and still made 20 mpg's
