Default LQ4 AC hook up to Chevelle stock AC

Can I use the LQ4 compressor and hook it up to the stock 71 chevelle AC system in the car? If so, what changes will I need to do?

Thanks for all the help.

I'm pretty sure it can be done, but I'm not exactly sure how. If you pick up the latest issue of Car Craft, they have their "Engine Swap Drags" featured and one of the cars is a Buick with an LQ4 and the factory firewall AC. They used Kwik Performance brackets to mount the compressor on the passenger side and you can see in the pictures it's clearly hooked up to a factory original GM evaporator box on the firewall. I have no idea exactly how they did it, but I'd love to know since I plan something similar for my '70 NOva.

I don't think it'll work correctly. Stock LS cars/trucks use variable displacement AC compressors and the older cars use a sanden ac compressor I think. I read it about the vintage air swaps and I think it applies to you. The nice thing is Vintage Air makes some sanden adapters to stock LS brackets that aren't too expensive. I think qwik performance offers them too.
