Default 3 channel or 4 channel abs?

I've tried many searches and have been unsuccessful at finding the answer to my question. Please excuse my ignorance, but how do tell if I have a 3 channel or 4 channel abs setup? I have a 2000 Z28 with stock rearend, abs, and no traction control. I'm getting a thump-thump noise, almost as if wheels are out of balanced and figure replacing the axles will be the best solution. If this can be answered in another thread, please point me in the right direction. Thanks for the help.

^^^ agree/correct.
4 channel is only cars with ASR/TC traction control.

Is there an easy way to tell if it is 3 or 4 channel by looking at the axles? I am looking for used axles for my 4 channel and I want to make sure I do not get burned.

Also look for a sensor on top of the Pumpkin, a tell take sign it is a 3 CHannel. ESPECIALLY helpful at Swapmeets are buying used parts out of the car. Also when you pop the diff cover there is a LARGE exciter ring on the diff that matches up where the sensor sits.
