Default Steel driveshaft vs. aluminum driveshaft?

I'm about to have my car dynotuned, and I had a quick question... My car was in an accident a few years ago, and the guy that fixed it used stock parts off of a non-ws6 ta. I know he replaced the swaybars, and I think he MAY have replaced the driveshaft.

I was told that if I have a steel driveshaft, I can kiss my 400rwhp goal goodbye, and that I would need an aluminum driveshaft to do that. Is there any truth to this?

the steel ones can vibrate at high rpms and can cause cracking.

Yeah, every report of cracked tailhousing I have seen,
was on a steel driveshaft and a gear swap. Stock piece
seems to whip when overspun.

Aftermarket steel ones are a different story. But flogging
the bargain basement one is looking for luck you may not
have.
