Racer's Lounge - Thinking about selling the Evil WS6 Soon.. Need some opinions

Hey guys..

As some of you may now, I finished the rebuild a couple months ago on the WS6. I've had the car for 2/3 years now. It's fully modded..

410RWHP on a mustang dyno.

Full Bolt-On's, Hooker 1 7/8" LT's, Hooker ORY, Mufflex 4" exhaust, Torquer V3 Cam, LS6 Stage 2.5 heads, 92mm FAST intake, NW 92mm TB, 36# injectors, Holley 255 fuel pump, FAST fuel rails, 3500 torque converter, lid, SLP MAF, all the other bolt ons.. Full sound system as well, Koni 4/3's all around, BMR torque arm, subframe connectors, BMR sway bar, Eibach pro kit springs, LCA's and relocating brackets..

It has an LS6 block with 38K miles, and the tranny was rebuilt at 60K. The car has 89K on the body.. So 38K for the motor, and 39K roughly for the tranny..

I absolutely love my car to death, but.. there's not really anything else I can do with it. I loved doing the rebuild, and I kinda want another car to work on, like a mildly modded LS1 or something.

Anyway, I know a decent amount of you guys, and I was hoping I could get your HONEST opinion on how much this car is worth. And for those of you that have sold your pride and joy, and have gotten another car.. how heartbroken were you? lol.

Remember.. almost 40K on motor/tranny.. 89K on the rest. Rear end is completely solid, body & paint are straight.

10,000. Where did you get the stripes from? I love mine to death but I am ready for something else also. You can always buy another one some day, I would love a convertible WS6 or SS next. Once I get the 81 trans am and put an ls1 in I am going to sell this.

I'll give you $500 right now, CASH MONEY.

No, but really. I'd agree with above, around 10k.

410RWHP and you're saying there's nothing else you can do to it???

incorrect.

Look through my rebuild thread. If you think I'm about to go back in there, take EVERYTHING I just did and go bigger, you're out of your mind.

I agree with most. On this board you could get 10k all day long. I'd pay that, save for being red.

No, it's going to sit a while. I barely got $6900 for my 88k mile SS. But while you are waiting for it to sell you can plan out your next ride. You should get a 70 Charger or something cool.

Meh, this board seems to go against the "mods don't have resale value" truth. Modded cars done right go for more than stock on here. Someone got a deal on your SS, but I still see 10k for this car.

I'm not saying the value isn't there, it's just that buyers of newer cars are assholes. I did have my fun messing with buyers though.

Just be prepared for the shit storm of "it's not a real ws6" or "the car is dirty, I'll give you $3000 for it to compensate for washing it". I got up and walked away from the guy that told me it wasn't a real SS. I was about to slap that guy.

Supercharger.

Would love to.. but, no money for it. Plus then I would need a new rear end, and probably soon thereafter, tranny work.

man that thing is clean.

Thanks dude.

Keep the opinions comin', lol. If it comes time that I actually do want to sell it, I'll post whatever I want for the car, and I'll wait. I have no "NEED" to sell it. There's always someone who comes along.

I wouldn't have to worry about "it's not a real WS6," thankfully.

FWIW I thought the same thing of my last bird and immediately regretted it a month later, so here I am with another one. I had done about the same work you have, and did it all myself (motor swap, rear end, paint, auto-manual swap, you name it I did it) and I still kick myself for selling it. I won't be selling my formula unless I get in dire need of money for some reason. I plan to keep it until they stop selling gasoline.

I sold my cousins 2002 Trans am black with 400rwhp needed a4 for 9000. Put it on ebay, It would bring 11 to 12k. If it's a clean title. Instead of selling it you should do a m6 swap.

I would agree with most here and say ~10,000 since that's what I came up with after reading just your post.

That car is so clean, I'm going to assume you don't drive it in the NY winters.....
I agree with others, rowing the T56 puts a smile on my face everyday, could be something to look into. Maybe trade it for a clean older car you like/always wanted? Then LS swap time!

How much does something like a T56 swap cost?

ThumperNC24
07-06-2010, 10:57 AM
you'll probably have a few grand if you get a T56 and rebuild, new clutch, etc.

I have like $2350 in my trans / clutch / flywheel / etc and my car was factory T56

You can find T56's on ebay (actually they're sort of rare). A bunch of sites sell swap kits.

You can do it sub-$2500.

vetteboy99

Under 2000.

My T56 swap cost me $1800 and change and about 8 hours of labor. Its like driving a whole new car and I actually like to drive it now!
