Default HELP! Dynatech headers burning plug wire

On the #5 cylinder, if you know Dynatech's, the header tube runs parallel and not down. I have to move my coil pack way down to even hook up my truck wires (have 6.0 in 69 Camaro). Is there anything else longer or to do besides relocating the coils? The dang boot on the plug is so long and practically touches the inside tube. I've even put on heat socks, shields, and still burn them up. It's been like 4 now. I would like to put the coil pack back up with the others but can't. It's even tight running behind. Ideas or pics? Thanks. Yes, tried an 8.1l wire as it's a tad longer but the boot off the plug was huge and laying all over the tube. Maybe a 90 on the plug would help to go in between???

dang, that sucks...I've been wondering about the fitment of the dynatechs for my Nova...

The truck wires are going to be the longest I think. Do you have any pics? That might make it easier to come up with a solution if we can see the problem...

A couple of things to consider, aftermarket wires like msd or taylor will probably have a smaller boot, but I don't know if that will solve the problem.

Another option would be modding some LT1 or 96-98 vortec truck wires which use the same spark plug and coil ends.

The headers are great because of the ample clearance of the power steering pump but do suck for burning up the wires. A guy suggested some NGK 120 degree boot ends that worked for him so might try that. Thanks.

I've never heard anyone trying these but google wrenchrat sparkarm. I'm curious to hear if they work... they'll probably look stupid though, unfortunately.

Never seen those. Different. Like you said, probably won't look right, but might work like a charm.

Get the MSD wires with the multi angle boots. They are a little longer than stock wires. Most importantly, you can individually bend the boot to any angle you want. Should clear any header problem.

I am watching this with great interest! Been thinking about these for my 71 Nova, and no one has reported fitment issues. Hope you can find a good cure for these, as the price on them is pretty decent.

You might want to take a look at the new body style truck wires. They have a 90* at the plug connector.

Thanks for the info on the 09 up plug wires. Might just pick up a set and sell what I don't need. Anyone else in this situation interested in a wire or two? Ill probably use 2 and sell the others. Figured about $8 shipped for one or $14 shipped for two.

Try to get some pics in the next few days. Also picking up a set of 09 wires so I will know if that fixes it.

Do you have a part number for these wires? And when you say a little longer, is that a little longer then the fbody wires or the truck wires? Fbody's are shorter, so if they were longer then truck that would be great.

No 09 wires will work. I've looked at 10 Camaro and 09 Silverado and both are straight boots. Unless someone knows something I don't. Thanks.

I had an '03 Chevy Express van 6.0L engine in my truck that had 90 deg boot ends... similar to this pic from rockauto.

Don't know if these would work or not...

Nope, too long. That's what the 8.1l wires looked like. I need a short 90 on the plug end. Guess I might buy some 90 boots and just cut a wire and try that. I've never had good luck when I cut and make the wires though.

same here....how long did it take you to get yours?where did you order them from?
im thinking of ordering a set of pacesetter long tubes for a 99-04 truck and seeing how they work on my nova.from looking at pictures seems like they will work in my car without much if any modification.
