Default Tune for throttle body

What needs to change in the tune to accomodate larger throttle bodies? Is there something in the constants table or do you have to piece meal together rpm vs air fuel ratio?

I dont recall any vital TB size settings in the PCM parameters.
In general, changing the TB will not require a significant "re-tune" to work properly although it never hurts. Definitely not worth the money for just a TB.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but just adding a larger throttle body on an M6 car probably wouldn't necessarily need a tune. A4 cars need to adjust line pressure for the shifts as the larger throttle body will be flowing more air at part throttle than the stocker.

Good point. I was speaking more to the M6 above.

If you have an A4 you MUST increase the line pressures for off idle or you will quickly fry the transmission. The tune will also likely need to have changes for any transmission when you change the TB.

Good luck

My car has a shift kit in it, not that this matters I guess, but do I really need to ness with transmission tables for a tb? I guess thats not going to happen...lol

No keep running it, then when you fry the trans you can start a thread about how pressure MUST be changed for a tb change.

You don't have to adjust the max line pressure or high TPS value pressures, you just need to increase them down low. The larger TB makes more air flow in at a lower TPS reading, so you are making more power and your computer doesn't know it so it still has the pressure set low to shift "soft".

Where your times with a stock 48mm TB?
