Well guys just a few weekends ago I ran high 10's on motor on a nitrous only tune. Well we richened up the motor Pump Gas tune and I hit it with some spray today and went 9.88. Drove it to and from the track again.

The track is 45 miles one way also.
I bought this car here on tech from 9sec93. Definately a great purchase.

Thanks. I'm very happy with it. There are some minor details I'm fixing but that's more because I'm pretty pickey about things.

I did find that post on bullet. There are some pretty bad axx cars in that thread. It's got a tsp408, nitro dave plate w/ dedicated fuel cell with 109 in it, and a half tank of pump gas in the stock tank, t350w/t brake and ptc 4000 nitrous converter, ford 9 narrowed 3inches per side to get the big 295/65/15's mt dr's under the back. All stock suspension, 2 step.
That was a 150 shot that is still a little rich and I think I can still safely go down one more on the fuel jet and as you can tell the 60' is kinda high for this kind of car. This was nowhere close to a perfect pass. There are also mistakes I made as the pilot since my reaction times are getting slow even when it comes to shifting and learning a new car. Since there has never been a 4th gen fbody built to this quaility and extreme uphere in Alaska, there are alot of new things to learn.

It still blows my mind to see cars like this doing 9's. I remember what a 9 second car used to look like when I was a kid...

I enjoyed passing those 9 second cars that were on the trailers heading out to the track. Full tube chassis, hugh slicks, tin interiors, prostreet. Why. Thats the best part and what I enjoy most about this car. Out running those cars with my street car.

Nice pass! I love that fact that it still looks like a street car and you drive it to and from the track. The 60 is a little slow, did it spin?

Up here with the short summers I can't justify having a car that isn't streetable or a street car. But I've been spending alot of time on this one and havn't really driven my red WS6 much this summer.
No spin at all. Everything except the motor is all fresh on this car. Still sorting things out with the suspension, which is all new, learning about the 2 step lingenfelter box, and a fresh nitrous jet change. So the spray didn't kick in for about 60' delay from having an empty line. From what a friend of mine said as he watched the run. Which makes sense because it charged hard on the top end.

I actually looked at your car when it was posted for sale. Def a clean, fast car. But this car I picked up, has really made people up here take notice. There has never been a 4th gen body taken to this extreme. (mini tubs, narrowed 9in, slammed, 30in DR's) I had it at a car show last night and there were alot of people that didn't even know what to think. LOL

Nitro Daves 92 plate w/ dedicated cell. Nos cheater noids.
I think the PRC stage 3 ls6 heads are holding it back some, since those are for the smaller ls6 bore. The afr 225's would probably be a better choice and match the 408's bore better.
I'm still sorting out things on this combo, so we'll see how fast it'll go first.

Good luck shifting. I'm not that good with my 6 speed in my 01WS6. That's why the auto was mandatory for the black ta.

On these 30" dr's and the 4.11 gears w/ a t 350. I'm going through the lights at about 6500, 6600 rpm which is perfect for my combo.

Congrats man when you said in your 10 second thread that the 150 HP shot actually produced 175 HP to the wheels when you had it on the dyno, I knew it would run pretty good.

I was able to sneak my 346 into the 9's with a 125 dry shot so I knew that 408 would run good when you hit it with the nitrous at the track!

Good luck and be safe the next time out!

Thanks. Nice run. 9's on a 125 shot.
This beast still has more left if I get the 2step and suspension figured out :D
I just put the 100 shot back in which was running 11.7/11.9 afr and 10.02 and that was on the 6 degrees of timing taken out (for the 150 shot), I decided to try one more step down on the fuel jet to see if I can get closer to the 12.1 afr mark that I want to run at. Also added the one click firmer back into the front shocks which is what I had it at on that 10.02 run that did a 1.41 60'. I know getting those two things figured out the 100 shot will go high 9's. If it still goes 9's on the 100 shot I can live with that until I do my 10 point this winter. Then I can work on getting my 9.50 goal.

I have a somewhat similar setup that was supposed to have run 10.84 on motor but is setup for a 150 shot. I paid $10500 for this 56k mile SS and would love to say i got it to run 9's for about that money! It has a 9" w/4.11's in it w/28" tires, but i'm swapping it for a 3" narrowed/side MWC moly unit with a spool and trying to gauge if 3.73's on the 28" would be best. What was your race weight and the da if you please??

Thanks and great numbers!!!

Thanks. I'm still getting things dialed in and made huge progress this past summer. From my first motor pass of 12.xx with no adjustments, to 10.8x on motor, and 9.75 on spray. I'm going to lean this 150 shot out some more and reset the lsx record up here and then go up in jets.

I've never scaled it myself. I was told under 3000lbs. Everything that could be taken out is, without it looking hacked. But I've added some weight back into it. With stock power seats, seat belts, wiper motor and headlights all put back in. I'm also looking at the burkhart tubular bumper supports. Since those were all removed and the front is starting to sag alittle and I drive this car and our roads are pretty rough.

With my turbo350, 4.11 and 30" drs I'm right on 6500 through the traps. Which is perfect for my setup and where my cam drops off. A friend of mine is trying to talk me into going to a 28" tire. But I'd have to regear and I was thinking 3.73's also. But this setup is working great for me and I don't plan on changing it.

Thats awesome man! i just ordered a whole bunch of stuff today to drop weight including a tubular front bumper from midwest chassis on here. it's not an nhra legal one like the burkhart is, it's main function is weight loss and support for the nose. it's a single 3/4" c/m tube that goes from bumper mount to bumper mount and a hoop to keep the bottom of the nose from flapping around. It's like $125-150 and is powdercoated too. Sounds super light!!

Thanks for the reply! Cheers!!

I haven't looked at the midwest piece. I only found the burkhart piece because it was in a recent gm hightech. I will want to keep mine ihra legal because that's what our track is up here.

cool man thanks! No i don't intend to minitub as of yet. i don't wanna go too far with the car with it only being a hopeful 9 sec ride that see's more street duty (in the country) than anything so i should be able to get by on a 28" set of MT dr's or slicks if i have to.

The MT dr's will hook just fine. Plus you can drive to the track on them, air down, run 9's. Air back up and drive home.
Yeah the only down fall with mini tubs is loosing the back seat. But I can live with that, since I don't give rides in it and I have my red bird for my stockish cruiser. I don't dd either of mine but I will take them out on sunny days and cruise around. :D

Yea i 'might' consider mini-tubbing it if i didnt have 2 boys, but i do and they both cant wait to go for a ride in this after i get a back seat and belts back in. just scored a full front and rear set of belts and buckles in matching ebony for $50 shipped so all i need is a back seat and it's good to go.

Frozen WS6
01-16-2011, 09:08 AM
Nice score. I had to get stock belts also to be DOT compliant. It was missing the passenger belt and there was no harness for a passenger and I needed the stock belt for the driver side also. But I'm missing the loop on the headrest so the shoulder part of the belt hits too high for me. So I need to find the stock loops also.

The other reason I lost rear seats was they raised and wided my trans tunnel some back there to give the torque arm more clearance to get the stance right.

plus that thing looks bad ass tucking a 30" tire. if you do ever try a smaller tire, put a hoosier 275/60 on it. maybe even try it with your same gear. i dont think a few more rpm would hurt it.

For sure. I'd have to up the rev limiter up to 7,000 too.
But if the track keeps adding more rules that are above what ihra requires (like engine diapers). It'll take the rest of the fun out of going to the track. There already struggling to keep racers out there and there going to loose some more with this rule. Especially test & tune only guys with true street cars. I'll just get some radials for the front and drive it more, or maybe get some 17" TT2's all around for a street tire. Or maybe just make a motor pass then turn on the spray and get booted everytime. lol.

I have the first week of Feb. off so I'm going to get a chance to call about diapers and see what they have or can make me. I'll let you know.

how much $$ have you put into it since u bought?

It was ready to roll and put together very well so not much.

Just 90 pump gas, oil changes after every time I sprayed, and bottle refills, T&T at the track, wideband, oh and some dyno time to retune it. Luckly I didn't have to buy a hood. Freight is brutal to get things up here. (video in sig for that story).

I had to get and finish a couple of things to get it past tech (there extremely picky). My battery switch didn't turn everything off and a neutral safety. Then set it up to run the class I was going to run (which was just adding the wiper motor and drivers side wiper mount), but never did run it since I was trying to get things dialed in better.

So mostly it's just been my time since I already had extra parts that I could use from my red bird.

Where the hell have you been man? working on your tan. :usa:

Mine's back up on jackstands too. I got my KUP water vaper system on and the oil cooler finished saturday night. Went for a test drive around EagleRiver. I have a hose leaking on the KUP, my oil temp gauge wasn't working and an oil leak on the oil cooler too. On the oil cooler, I'm not sure if I damaged a hose while I was putting the end on or if it's something else, like my oil temp sensor or something. I know what the culprit should be with the gauge. I will probably have to get a new hose for the KUP.

Once I get this stuff straight I'll order my engine diaper from mad man.
