Exclamation Hee guys, need help quick...

Hee everybody,
I just been visting a wreckyard/recycling company.
They offer a engine to swap in my '72 Camaro.
It's a 2001 5.7 form a Camaro SS from canada.
The engine has 3 kilometers on it, it was wrecked on the boat during shipping.
(true story, I have read the police and customs file)
The enigine comes with computer, harness and all acc. But the trans is allready sold. The engine is sitting there for almost a year, the trans would not have survived that, according to the man selling)

He does have another transmissions, a 4L60E from a Impala SS or a 4L80E from some truck. Don't know the years he was talking about.
Can I just use that, or will it not adapt to the engine without problems????
I am planning on reprogamming the computer by Speartech.
Will this combo work????
I am looking for a direct bolt on, part numbers are welcome offcourse.
Will a 4L60 or 4L80 non Electronic will work to? what should I be looking for?

Any thoughts, if not what should I be looking for?
This is a uniqe engine, especially in the netherlands
let me know asap please!!!
Thanks guys
Peter

the 4l60e that mates to the ls1 has a removable bellhousing..the erlier 4l60e and 4l80e will not bolt up to the ls1..i think you can get an adapter plate to make them fit..not sure though

I'm afraid I don't know that much about swaps, but if you haven't already, you may want to check out the conversion forum. I'm sure the people that lurk in there have had many of the same issues/questions. Good luck with the project.
