Fast toys ramair installed...
After some research on ls1tech I decided to spring for the FTRA. Installation took me about 3 hours(workin alone), but fits great and very steath. As far as performance gains, picked up 1 thenth and 1 MPH at Raceway park 1/4 mile. SOP feel is very noticable, I thought it would be more than 1 tenth, but still happy with.

Density altitude - it takes into account a few variables, and gives you an equivalent altitude. This is usually important to people involved with aviation, but it also helps to know it when you run down the quarter mile. If you are running in shitty air (say 90*, humid as f***), the DA will reflect that (the DA will be a higher number) so you can take that into account. If you end up running again with awesome air (like 40-50*, low humidity), the DA will be lower - people often record their fastest runs with negative DA values. Bottom line: it helps you compare apples to apples if you have your e.t. and trap speed along with the DA for your runs.
Good question - the seals provided with the FTRA kit are adequate at best. You might not see much better results by going to all of the effort to seal it perfectly, but it probably wouldn't hurt. To get an idea, just take a leaf blower and aim it up the scoop - feel around the lid and the lower air box assembly for any leaking air. You might be surprised at what you find.

Good call...I gotta try this on mine. We used a flashlight, but a blower would be good too.

How did the FTRA fit? I have the Chris1313 (ac version) and was very disappointed with how it fit. I had to modify it extensively to get it to fit, and even now it doesn't fit THAT great.

did you bend the ribs under the radiator support flush forward...that alone allows for a 1/2 or more clearance...shoot me a pm and we can work through this...

shoot me some pics...yes it will be very very tight...it is max effort for keeping the ac...I have never had a problem with the 5+ intakes I have installed with ac...

Hey KTK, It fit almost perfectly, but it took some pushing and pulling to get the bottom three bolts that connect to the bottom air dam to connect. other than that the install went smooth.
