Default Cut the stock time 13,5 with 150 shots.

My friend got a Z28 -99 almost stock.
Just Air Lid and Borla Cat-Back system. I think his is running about 13,5 1/4.

If he add 100-150 shots of NOS, how much would he cut his time??
And is it ok for the stock engine?

/Jimmy

I prefer the NX Wet Kit. I have been running for about a year now.

I think he will buy NX. But can he use 150 shots of NOS together with the stockparts in the engine without any problems??

I would say 11's are within reach depending on the driver and the tranny that hes using.

I have heard of a couple of SSs/z28s, running 11s with a 150 shot with basically no mods except nitrous.

My 99 Vert, Auto, has just a Cat back and a Lid. I added a 100 Dry shot (NOS) and hit it in the middle of 2nd for traction reasons, Stock F1's.
NA it ran 13.4 @ 103
100 hp, ran 12.6 @ 115.8 with a 2.07 60.
With Traction, a high 11 is possible with that MPH.

My 99 A4 with just boltons and a TnT 100 wet shot is pulling out low 11s with a stock motor (ls6 intake) and stock fuel system on et streets. B4 i put in my conv. i was getting low low 12s on nittos and running out of fuel on the top end. So if he slaps on the 100-150 he should easily drop a second off him time, maybe closer to 12.0s with the 150 and some traction. All depends on the driver and how the car hooks. JP

Look, lets be real about this. Totally stock 99. Stock 10-bolt. You didn't say M6 or A4 (let assume M6 - stock clutch?) Stock fuel pump. Stock injectors. STOCK PROGRAMING.

Just a matter if it will be the engine or the rear-end first. Maybe not the 1st time, but it will happen on a 150 shot. All you'll need is to get traction out of the hole Or it goes lean at top end (hope you brought a trailer)

If you have never run nitrous before, start off smaller and build up to the 150. A 100 shot wet would be a better way to go. Add a fuel pump, get it tuned, use an MAFT and Atap. Without these little helpers you are looking at making one of our sponsors very happy.

There was once upon a time a picture of one of the guys on here that posted a picture of what 150 shot will do. Piston was hanging out of a hole you could put your fist through.

Good luck

David

Thanks for all the answers!
Yes he have M6 with stock clutch. He will reprogram the computer. Ok, so the 150 shots should "kill" the engine after a while...

What´s the difference between wet and dry system? Is it just a separate fuel rail??
What is MAFT and Atap??

A 150 shot will only kill the engine if you go lean, start with a 100 shot and then step up to the 150. Also get the right tunning and plugs to run the 150. The difference betwene a wet kit and dry kit is that the wet kit injects nitrous and fuel through one nozel a the same time. With a dry kit, the system relys on your fuel injectors to supply the extra fuel. IMO if you know your gona spray the 150 shot, just got for the wet kit. If your gona spray 100 and leave it at that go with the dry kit. Also upgrade the fuel pump.

150 shot would be a kick, but like stang killer and I said start off smaller and build up.

Wet - 2 seperate solenoids - one for nitrous and one for fuel. Each has separate jets. Shoots nitrous and fuel at the same time

Dry - 1 solenoid - shoots nitrous only.

Ask 2 different people that run nitrous each will have their own views on which is better (wet or dry).

MAFT - allows you to "tune" your car by either leaning or riching it up - carried by almost all sponsors

Atap - monitors the engines function - i.e. O2's, rmps, misfire, etc, etc - carried by almost all sponsors

Or just go with the LS1 Edit - get someone to tune the car.

Good luck.

anyone have this or close to it that could estimate a time in the 1/4.

98 Z28, M6, 3.90:1gear, Nittos, lid, gms 85mm maf, NX 100 wet shot, slp loudmouth catback, bmr lca's w/ relocation brackets, subframe connectors, free mods, pro 5.0 shifter.

Last time the car was ran on a street tire with only free mods and the catback sys. and went 13.6 all day, and I was comming out at about 1500rpm.

want to come out about 2500 now, Any guesses?
