Igniton help
I dont want to start blaming my opti but ive got a weird issue with my bird. At a steady state cruise 1300-2000 rpm between 35-50 mph it feels like i have a slight misfire like one piston doesn't fire every once in a while. Also feels worst with driving at night. Also it feels like im hitting a rev limiter at 5k my guess its the opit missing at high rpm. The was bought brand new in the winter and it has an msd cap/rotor.

What up pimp? THats wierd that only at night is id dogshit. But since its nightfall right now go outside and look for fireworks under the hood. See if you have a misfire and the wires are arching. Then if not, Id say beat on again and see exactly where it cuts out when WOT. Did you tune the car yet?

no codes, plugs wires are fine they were routed and tucked away from the headers when the whole engine was out. If it were a coil or icm wouldnt it miss all the time?

most of the mail order tunes i have seen that are running an aftermarket cam have the misfire codes tuned out so unless your opti really did **** the bed and you lost your low res/high res signal than it won't throw a code

Mine had the same symptoms you were describing, a low rpm/high load miss, and breaking up on top. I did my opti/plugs/wires and it took care of it. Under high load/low rpm the cylinder pressures are really high and there-in lies the greatest potential to cause the spark to seek an alternate ground - mine would idle fine and pull ok under light throttle, but when you loaded it a cylinder or two would go out. After replacing the parts, I can flat foot it again in any gear from 1000rpm and it just pulls without any fussing.
