Default OE Wheels able to be sanded and polished?

My Zr1 deep dish style wheels have pretty bad water stains and wont come off with anything I try.

Am I able to take some sandpaper to these with hand polish?

If they're polished yes you can. It's nothing more than OE did when they first finished them If they're chromed or painted, not unless its a very light wetsand, but I'm sure you would know that.

Before you bust out the sandpaper, have you tried a good buffing compound bar, like jewelers rouge? You might try looking at a local truck stop/supply, they use good **** to polish all that chrome and aluminum. Pick up a buffing wheel you can fit on the end of a drill or die grinder, and give that a shot.
