Default Ran some 1/8 mile, a few videos for entertainment

Took my car to our local 1/8 mile track today for fun. I haven't had it out much this summer thanks to work.

Quick recap of the car, it's basically a stock shortblock/heads/intake with a good valvetrain and an AI 230/238 cam and tuneup. It's got a moser 12 bolt and full bolt ons.

This should be a good laugh for you Ford lovers. This car had some ignorantly massive turbo and nitrous plumbed into the hot side to help it spool. Full roll cage, aftermarket suspension, wrinkle walls and skinnies up front. This was a full blown race car, someone just forgot to add the power. It's a cell phone video, my camera was in my car when he pulled up. We were trying to line up against this guy for a few hours but nobody was close enough to grab the good video camera.

This is a good shot from in my buddies WRX of my car making a pass. He doesn't quite keep up but it's still a unique shot. My car was having trouble hooking up ET Streets for some reason, it's not the tires and its not my car they've dead hooked before at well prepped tracks. It's just our local track isn't that wonderful.

This is an outside shot of me and my friends WRX racing. He cut a really bad red light this run, I think a .2xx if I recall so it looks like I'm losing.

The track has a reputation, there is grass growing in the shut down area for starters! The car was running low 8s all day and made two sub 8 passes, a 7.97 and a 7.99.

That track is called Sunset Drag Strip and has been there since 1959. They claim it to be the birth place of bracket racing. Lots of history there

There's nothing ghetto about that track. There are plenty of ghetto tracks, but that is not one of them.

Yea that does feel good. I still think there is a little left in the car, considering I'm spinning the majority of first gear each run and only cuttings high 1.8x 60s theres plenty left in it. I just need to get my launch down or try a prepped track.

You need some man meats. I went a 1.54 there with my 6 speed on the 28x10.50 ET Drags

Yea, I need to replace that stock steel driveshaft and ram muscle car clutch before I hit the track with some wrinkle walls!!

Another video I found laying in my documents.

The lane paving looks pretty crappy to me, but I'll take your word for it.

That doesn't make it a ghetto track. You know, one where you can't turn your back for 2 minutes without risk of your **** being stolen, or if you are in a money race and are outnumbered and the opposition didn't like the start they'll either welch or stop on the track, back up and start the race over, or a place you wouldn't dare take your kids to, or witnessing drug transactions. That is what you call a ghetto track.

I think in terms of usability we're describing what's ghetto or not. If you know of a track where you can see a drug deal go down, they race for money, and your **** gets stolen, stop racing in alley ways of big cities for crack.

$15. It's close by and makes for a cheap, fun place to go on Sundays.

It's one of the few places you can pay 15 bucks and get as many passes as you do. I showed up for two hours of test and tune and made almost 10 passes.
