Corvette Performance - 99 c5 steering column stuck

My buddy's c5 when starting to car the column gets stuck. Does this happen to anyone and what can he do to fix it?

that just happened to me on my 2000 frc. I tried buying the bypass from corvettes of houston but it didnt work for me. I think the reason was because i already had the recall performed on mine back in 04. My vette is at the dealership right now getting the problem fixed. It was a recall and if the dealership can prove it is related to the recall again then GM will pick up the cost. So your options are to try the bypass or to get it fixed at the dealership.

o and also i have the bypass here that i cant use if you want i can sell it to you and ship it. if will work for you if the recall was never performed on your vehicle.

I got the bypass from corvettes of houston and my problem is fixed.(It's a simple install)
