Convertible Vehicles - LEAST problematic LT Headers & Y for a 'Vert?

All, what are the LEAST problematic LT Headers & Y-pipe for a 'Vert?

I am considering Kooks LT 1 3/4 at the moment (maybe QTP too, but NOT their Y-pipe as it is not 304 stainless), and possibly Kooks Y-Pipe with a different merge added and a 4 in. mid with a No Weeds diverter in there somewhere...

Any advice on choices, as I do not want any exhaust impacts to the body over rough road. TIA

I have asked this before and not really got any vert owner answers...

No personal experience, but check out this thread:

Headers for a vert (http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/convertible-vehicles/828532-headers-vert.html).

Also try a search in the this forum using pacesetter as the search argument. You should get a lot of hits where there are comparisons. Good luck! Tom

Also, what's the ideal for an SS with just bolt-ons to maintain low-end torque -- 1 3/4 primaries? When is stepped advisable?

I have the Kooks 1 3/4 and even thou they are nicely built mine bang like a mother f^%ker. I gotta work on em some more to see if I can fix it. Makes me save on gas thou since I don't floor it cause don't wanna hear.feel the noise hehe.

I have 1 3/4" LPP. I'm not following how any header would be different from a ttop/hardtop car??

As for exhaust TSP TD. If you really want to eliminate any Y or whatever hitting the body solid motor mounts are always an option.

Kooks. Never a problem until I added koni/stranos, even still not much of an issue

Did you try replacing your motor mounts with poly ones? Supposedly that is the fix...

So why stepped? What is the advantage and for what reasons? I haven't been able to get anyone to answer that Q...

What did you add Shocks & Strano what? Lowering springs?
So what was the problem then?

Did you go with the Kooks Y-Pipe? I don't think their merge is any good...

I have SLP longtubes and catted y. I haven't had any problems. I have no banging but that is probably due to poly motor mounts, which is a mod that you should probably consider doing at the same time as the headers.
