Underhood temps
Ok, so as you can see from my mod list I have aftermarket headers. They are coated but my under hood temps are getting so hot that plastic pieces are starting to get brittle. I mean so hot under there I can feel the heat radiating through the firewall. I was thinking about buying another stock style hood and putting some heat etractor vents in it. Problem being I dont want it to turn out how do I put it elegantly...Rice I guess. I would like it to look sporty but not ricey and look almost stock. Any suggestions?

install small fan that you can turn on and off when ever you felt hot ? you think it help ? remember these engine is iron, so it will get hot. today i was put in some combustion chamber cleaner , and while I spay the can to the brake boost hose, the heat on engine heat up the can im holding so fast that I have to take off the shirt and use it to wrap around the can. so I felt your pain on the heat.

I was driving around for an hour and a 1/2 last week in 90 degree weather and I also felt that damn heat through the firewall and tunnel. My right foot was getting damn hot.
I have a ws6 hood (partially blocked openings though), and I'm not sure if it's helping alot.
One thing that comes immediately to mind that you can do and is cheap is put some washers on the hood/hinges to prop up the rear like back in the day. Either, heat rises up and over the windshield, or some of the wind will crash the windshield and travel down the engine bay compartment.
WIth our windshields being so raked, it's probably not the second one.

Thank you, I was going to say just that. Header Wrap is not good for daily driving. I only drive my car during the summer and still dont put many miles on her. But Im not going to risk using Header Wrap.

It help if you not daily drive, but with daily drive it will rust to hell and you dont even know it rust or leak under that wrap, I would stay away from it. A friends spray a coat of temperture reduce can thing and it reduce the heat alot. im thinking do that to mine.

What would be cool, is if you had an Electronic solenoid that would open and close with either the start of the engine or at WOT Like the old school Shaker Kits to let the heat out. But any ways guys, I have to jet to the gym or else I dont get paid (What little I make any ways)
