How to tell if 3.73 gears are for 3 series carrier

How to tell if 3.73 gears are for 3 series carrier I have a set of 3.73 gears and I was wondering if they are for a 2 or 3 series carrier. Are they anyway to tell?

The 3 series gear should be about 1/4 thicker than a 2 series would be. As far as just picking up a gear and looking at it and telling, not that I know of. Post over on KY and see if anyone can help there as well.
