What will a 4.10 do to my daily driver?
I have an with a 2.73 gear now. If I switch to a 4.10, approximately how many RPMs will I hit at 80mph? I tried to look at the chart, but my computer wouldn't download it.

A car with a 4L60E locked up in 4th in a car with 25" tall tires will run at 2054 rpm at 80 mph.
With 4.10's it'll run at 3085 rpm.
So basically you can get a good idea of how it will be on the highway by driving in 3rd with the 2.73's. You should go 2935 rpm in 3rd with 2.73's.
The calculator I always use is this one:
Rear Gear x Transmission Gear Ratio x 336 x MPH / Tire Diameter = RPM
For transmission gear use .7 for OD with a 4L60E, 336 is a multiplier when there is no slip between the engine and trans. If you calculate it unlocked 355 works close.
So yours is 4.10 x .7 x 336 x 80 / 25= 3085 RPM
With 4.10's it'll run at 3085 rpm.

that should answer all your questions, at the top left select your car and tire size and type in the gears in this format 4.11 and hit the calculate button, it will show you a break down of MPH vs Speed from like 500 rpm to 7000 if I recall correctly

So you will need the diff and the gears actually. There are companies that make gear sets to offset the difference but if you are swapping stock gears for stock gears the 3.23 and 3.42 cars had a different differential than the 2.73 cars did.

Dang, I was hoping that would work! Thanks for the heads up, I'd hate to waste my $$. So you're saying that I will have to buy a whole pumpkin ball to get a lower gear, right?

No you wont . Just get a set of gears made for a 2 series carrier . Theyre about $10 bucks more than a regular set . I used a set of motives and went from 273's to 373's without a problem .

IIRC my 95z28 auto with 3.73s ran around 2700-2800 at 70-75...It was extremely annoying and I will never do it again on a DD. My current car has 3.23's and they seem to be fine. Not as much low end but the top end is better and I get better mpg.
