Reason:

I LOVE the car....
But Looking at a pic of a car VERY similar to my 92 firebird makes me want a third gen bad. Plus I can pay off the last of my debt with some of it too.

Maybe in AZ but here in chicago that car I can get all day for $5k with near the identical everything. Some cars I might be able to get with everything except full exhaust and minor blemishes for about 4k. But hey you might be able to, I have no idea

Your car is very clean, well kept. It should have sold for what you where asking.

But as you said, people just don't want lt1s. And its sad because they are such good cars.

Thanks man, I like it...but I want something newer, with all the new things technology has to offer lol, we've come a long way in 15 years.
I'm to the point where I love riding in my step dad's 05 (I think) Trailblazer that he calls a POS lol.

Sucks because I won't be able to get anything out of it unless the right person comes along to get me into a newer car, and theres no possible way I would let it go for under 6500ish. I'll probably end up keeping it forever and turning it into a drag car...who knows, maybe it'll be "cool" in 25 years lol.

It has tasteful mods but I wouldn't pay a dime more than $4500 or maybe $5000 at the most if it's really clean inside and out. You may be able to get $6500 from someone who is looking specifically for a silver LT1 T/A with bolt-ons but I wouldn't count on it. I would list it for $6500 and see what happens, can't hurt right.

These cars arent worth much. Thats why I keep them. I could never let one go for 3 or $4,000. Hopefully they will rise in value one day. I think they are the best bang for the buck car out there. No lie.

5-6 years ago you probably could get away with $6,500. Not saying it's not worth that, but to the public eye (what people are willing to pay), it's not. I bought my car for 6k about 5 years ago. It was IMMACULATE (new paint job, the hood came with it, had some new nice tasteful black C6 wheels with new tires, nice black leather interior, badass sound system, engine was rebuilt along with the trans, etc). Car definitely went downhill from that point on when the mods started rolling through The car is worth only what someone is willing to pay. Best of luck on the sale man!

LT1 cars are at their very lowest on price. In the market right now you're looking at $3500-$4500. If you're lucky $5000 for a mint car. The opti fear and other unfounded rumors are spread far and wide. They are the best deal for performance since prices collapsed on muscle cars in the 1970s. Worth more than it will bring, but the market is the market. They won't go up for another 10 years.

Have you considered returning it to stock? You could sell the car cheaper and recoup most of the difference by selling off the parts seperately. I know it's time consuming and a big hassle, but you have to consider the car isn't worth any more modified than stock.

Are you bored with it, tired of it or just discouraged with the new stuff rolling off of the line?

Perfectly said, return it to stock and then sell it. SEll the other parts on here for cash and you can still make a lot. I will buy your LPPs and I can give you cash for them and ship you stock exhaust manifolds. Then all you need is a catback, stockish.

Yeah, I've thought about swapping some stuff. I can only really put on the hood/intake and rims easily tho. Everything else would be more of a hassle than it's worth.

ALso, there are a lot of LT1s that aren't even running or wrecked going for the prices you guys are suggesting around here. I just figured a clean ram air could go for more than that.

Sure I could sell the hood/airbox for almost $1k and the rims for $400 and drop the price to about $5k but that wouldn't sell as quick either. Plus I'd be trying to sell the other parts that may or may not sell quick.

Also, LS1s are still going for 9-11k around here for some reason.

I actually just want something easier/cheaper to work on and I want a third gen again. I've thought about buying a third gen and doing the LT1 swap... I have also thought about the same thing with a '68...

I bought a 97 with less mods, very good exterior condition, mint black leather interior but with working AC for $4000. Sorry.
