Default Lt1 head confusion!

Just bought a donor car.. its a 94 z28 and the guy claims it has Dart Heads but i have no proof

So i have the intake off and this is what the heads look like...



Thanks.. just tryin to sell them so i need to know

Incredibly hard to tell from the pic. I'd suggest taking off the valve covers and having a look-see for any part numbers or any identifying marks. You can compare them to the pictures in this album and see if you can figure it out:

looks like stock heads with some fancy valve covers on em to me...

I promise you, Dart heads will show the word "Dart" on them somewhere.

All those little bumps and ridges under where the bolt holes are looks just like a stock head casting. Aftermarket heads aren't going to look like that. You will easily be able to tell, once you have the valvecover off. The GM casting number will be visible.

thanks guys.. would it say dart or edelbrock right on the side if it was? I have the valve covers off now and they say a number

Would prob say right on the front. Whats the casting number?

+1 under the ignition modual and coil. Pull that off and it should have something.

If you look at the pictures I posted of the Dart heads in the link, the front of the heads are blank. Strange.

pull the valve cover off, they will have DART and pro 1 cast into them. That looks like a stock ported head.

dart heads say dart right on the outside..right under the exh ports..

also dead center in the middle of the head they say pro 1's if they are.
