Default Collector gasket leak on true duals

I went to fix a leaking collector gasket on my 95 T/A today and I cant seem to get it perfect. I put the new gasket on but It was leaking just about as much as before I started. So then I put 2 gaskets (doubled up) on it and its still leaking just a tiny bit. I can feel a pee hole size leak but I cant hear it. It will be fine for now but next time I replace these collector gaskets I might try different ones.
I just used the paper gaskets this time around because I had extras lying around. Its the old 3 bolt style. Is there a better gasket that would have worked or some kind of sealant I should have added before installing? What is the best brand? Thanks.

I never had good luck with 3-bolt flange collectors. You can try RTV and see if that helps.

Your next best option is to cut off the flanges and slip-fit them to the y-pipe with band clamps.

I agree with RamAir95TA ive used both types, and the slip fit is nicer in my opinion. Another reason to go slip fit gives better ground clearance than 3 flange.

OP: you can get metal collector gaskets. That's why I use.

PErcys make collector gaskets that you can use with no prolbem. Flange type is way better than slip fit and you never have to worry about the exhuast getting stuck seizing and not coming off. Just unbolt the exhaust and your done Paper gasket should work just fine if you tighten them down enough.

Make sure the flanges are flat and they shouldn't leak. I have had to straighten mine a couple times after they scraped a speed bump. They are usually fairly soft steel and a couple taps with a 3lb hammer will straighten them.
