what heads for MS4 cam?
hey guys, went to the track yesterday, and after my second run, had a real bad knock coming from the motor. pretty sure its a lifter, but im dropping the motor and going to check for sure. while its out i want to do heads. what are the best heads for the ms4 cam. i want to make 480 whp if i can and wind to 6500/6800rpm. i am running patriot dual springs, hardened push rods, good rockers and will ls7 lifters be good enough for my setup? i am planning on keeping the stock bottom end tho and probably the stock ls6 intake. what do you think about this combo? any thoughts on it?

I had a ms4 with prc heads car made great power. but could of used a better tune good luck with your set up oh buy the way you wont have a problem with fly cutting with the prc ls6 heads also make sure you get the right push rods i used 7.4's on mine and ended up killing my lifters after 4000 miles.

mightybird, what kind of power did you make? i am palnning on dong harland sharps rockers or something similar. i am running 7.4 pushrods now, will they work or no? i am going to have slohawk tune it so i should be good there. which ones of their ls6 heads work the best for the ms4? btw i will prob end up doing a fast 90/90 setup too

go with the stage 1 or the prc215 , unmilled, more PTV clearence.the tfs have a better valve angle, but have bigger valves.I would recommend a custom cam with less lift, but the best valve events.you can upgrade the trunions on the stock rockers for $130.

Those lobes are really aggressive and can be quite damaging unless they are setup perfectly with the pushrods and springs.
Call TSP though, they will be able to tell you which heads to go with for that cam if you're dead set on the MS4

Me and u have similar goals. Im running futrals f13 right now and what to get the heads that will give me the most power, put me deeper in the 11s and leave room to grow later. Good luck.

Prcs 215 heads with a aftermarket casting ,I have a ms4 and that's what tsp told me,no fly cutting there will be more clearence with those than a stock ls1 head ,they also have a stage 1 ls6 head, call them there is a few opttions you can go with, without flycutting

The 215s are over 2 gs and the stage 1 ls6 heads are 1190.00 or something around that range,I know I'm gonna run the stage1 ls6 heads, don't have the cash to get the 215s still need a 12 bolt and a t 56 rebuild, and a fast.then my car is freaking done for at least a year, lol

Thanks for the referral, Bob!
We not only can set up the PRC 215's to clear the MS4, but we can now also do the 227's for even more power on a stock short-block!
