Smile HELP with Tires!!!

So like many others I finally upgraded after years of owning several F-bodys I finally got a 03 Z06 completley stock with 35 k miles. It still has the original F1 tires on it but here is my lil problem I need replacements in the rear and I have a pair of brand new Dunlops that are 275/35/R18. Are these too small? Am I being cheap? or should I just fork out some money for some wider Nittos/BF Goodrichs? Suggestions please

Yes to small. Run at least the stock 295, especially since you have 10.5" width wheels. Yes, you are being cheap. Fork out money and get either 295 or 315's.

305 nitto drag radials was one of the first mods I did to my C5Z.

The F1's are crap!

I say this what is it that you see yourself doing with your car. Are you gonna designate the car to do a lot of just dtraight line running or are you going to do any corner carving. You do DR's and you are going to be changing your tires every 5 to 8K miles. DR's while a nice tire to have because its sticky its not a good DD tire. Get something that is going ot give you good drive-ability when ever you are going to take out. If you wish to run DR's you can but since I have had a Corvette for a bit i can say this. Straight line is best left for F-bodies and you have just graduated to road racing my friend.

Great ALL around tire for all four corners.

I'm running Nitto 555R2's. Great traction (I can actually hook in first now) and great handling. 305's on the back, 275's on the front. The only downside is they wear fast. Which may or may not be a factor depending on how much you drive the car.

I love my Michelin PS2's thru the curves and at high speeds, but they leave a little to be desired when wanting to get on it in anything less then 3rd gear. Keep in mind I do have a 402 !! Good tire though.

I ran BFG KDW2's on my car and I actually liked them better than the BFG Drag radials that I had.

Thanks for all your replies, I just checked my the DOT on my tires and I was right they will made back in 2002. That gives me a lot of hope cause my first 1/4 mile run with no mods, not even an oil change I was able to get a 12.6, not bad after driving an automatic Trans Am.

yup, buy stock size at minimum or go a tad bigger. Watch your stagger front to rear though. It needs to stay close to stock (height).
