Default Gauge cluster

I have a 2000 Trans Am and the SES light was taken out so this year it would not pass inspection b/c it would not come on!! Take everything apart and find out that the bulb is gone!! So i go buy a cluster that works but the problem is the mileage is off by a long shot!! Is there anything I can do to get my mileage with this or just go back write it down and just keep up with it?

Thanks for the help in advance!!

Yes unplug your old one from the old cluster and put it into the new cluster. I believe as least it worked on my camaro.
