Default AC clutch air gap question?

So my new A/C clutch and coil came in and I am getting prepared to install them. My question is what is this air gap I keep reading about. A "mechanic" told me these compressors were non adjustable as far as the clutch goes. So, if there is a certain gap, how do I gap it? What do I gap it at? Also, what do I use to gap it?

Gap is .020" - .030", use a feeler gauge.
