Default Prostars to ZR1

Well ever since i bought the car i had drag type wheel on it, just getting tired of it and dont have the cash for another set of wheels. So, i'm going to ditch the Prostars and get a set of ZR1 with 11's in rear. How much et loss am i expected to get? Dont mind a tenth or 2 just want to really enjoy it more. Going to add a cam here soon so i should make up for it and some.

I would guess around a tenth based on a friends results. I would be more concerned about the looks...not a fan of those at all. I would just pick up some normal width front prostars

Youre going to be adding about 80-90 lbs to the car, not to mention the mass is all rotating. Two tenths easily.

More than a 10th, probably more than two 10ths. I know I lost more than two tenths of ET just putting skinnies on my car, not even counting with the rear drag wheels. Why not just change it up and go with a new drag wheel if you're concerned with ET. I've never been a fan of ZR1s, any drag setup would look way better IMO.

I have stock chrome zr1s and I can't stand them some cars look ok but I hate mine,if your drag set up is nice ill give ya mine and 500…, there will never be a gay zr1 on my ride again.,honest change your rim but stick with the drag set up that's what I'm goin with, the zrs are ok with a 11 inch rear but still gay ,if your gonna change to a 17 or something get tt2, or something like that

Results are in And im very impressed. The DA was really close to the previous runs with prostars.

Prostars best run:
1.645 60'

7.611 1/8 @ 89.18 mph

12.007 1/4 @112.17

With the HEAVY ZR1s

1.60 60'

7.70 1/8 @ 87.9 mph

12.180 1/4 @ 113.27 mph

Needless to say im very happy with car and ready to swap the cam out!!!

Prostars looked better and ET'd faster, but whatever floats your boat.

not exactly answering the OP question but:
my best on zr1's running 315 nitto DR . 12.2@116 1.8 60' launching @ 5500rpm
my best on 16" TA wheel running a MT ET street radial was 11.9 @117 1.7 60' launching @ 6k. i think i could've launched it even higher on the slicks but i hit my first 11 sec e.t. and said good enough....i need to makes sure i can drive it home.

Personally i like the prostars but my car is a street car. It goes to the track maybe 2 times a month. Other time im driving it around town beating up on new 5.0's!!! I love the way the ZR1's look alot better. And with only that small of a loss in ET im very happy. With that said i might eventally get a spare set of wheels but screw changing them everytime i want to go to the track

That'd be sweet.

Now I just need someone to buy my street wheels so I can start building a big forged motor
