Default 4l60e problem!

Long story short I broke my trans racing. Every gear seems to work just fine except for second. There is nothing there when im in second gear, it just free revs. I have no idea what would be wrong or what could have broke? Does anyone know what this could be?

The only upgrade to the trans is a shift kit.

Could be a broken sunshell and it doesn't have 4th also and you're feeling lock up instead.

Check the 1-2 accumulator piston, the second servo.
Other than that you're going to have to dig deeper into it.

alright, i'll do that. I have another question, the trans doesn't seem to want to come out. I have everything unbolted and out of the way, but it jsut wont seperate from the engine block. I've tried prying slightly but still nothing.

Does anyone know a tip or trick to get it out?

Try to get a pry-bar in the starter pocket of the transmission bellhousing. Then pry between the bell and engine block. You might want to release a bit of tension on the jack or add some to see if it helps while prying. Make sure you have all he bolts out. Look at the picture below to verify this in a ls1 car. I have marked the bolt holes with the red X. Vince

Man forgive me if this sounds stupid, but have you pulled a tranny before?
I'm only asking to find out if you unbolted the torque converter from the flexplate.
Again, not trying to make you look bad, but it could be something you might miss if you've never done it....I dunno.

I have mine out of my car now and I'm only about 20 miles away if you need to look at one pulled out.

Yeah, i've had trannys out before, this one is just giving me problems. I have all the bolts on the bellhousing out and the 3 allen head bolts connecting the torque converter to the flexplate.

I got a better look at the pins, and they seem to really be seized up on them. With persuasion i've got the trans to slightly seperate. I think with a little heat it would come off the pins better.
