Default CC503 LT1 Dyno graphs

Picked up the car from the dyno today after a full tune with Bryan from Pcmforless. The car made pretty decent #'s considering the mild bolt-ons and cc503 cam. The curves are nice and smooth and the car runs great and pulls harder than ever before. Bryan said the stock heads and shorty header setup were robbing some power but he was still impressed with how well it ran.

Not bad for the old Lt1

Honestly seems low. Especially given the fact that those are STD numbers. I make 25hp more STD corrected with a smaller cam.

What size are the primaries on those BBK's?

BBK's are 1 5/8" primarys, they're also running through the stock y pipe and cats. The car has 138k miles as well but has always ran great. Plus the air temp in the shop was around 98-102ish.

Agreed the numbers are low especially considering they are STD. SAE numbers are ~2.5% lower than STD. If I read the A/F right, you are under 13.0 and a bit rich. Leaning it out some might make a little more power.

The stock heads are choking the cam and thats why the power is peaking at 5.8KRPM. That cam can easily make power over 6K with ported heads. The BBK's are probably playing a small role but they are not the smoking gun IMO.

Sounds like climate conditions sucked for the tuning. Maybe a small role there. I would start checking things and datalogging to find any possible issues.

IMO, this motor should make ~330rwhp SAE.

Climate was definetly an issue, there was an ls4 grand prix that ran after mine with heads/cam/ls6 intake forged motor that they were having some trouble with, I think it ended around 328rwhp and 371 tq.

The next step is to take it to the track and see what it can really do. The car pulls very hard through the RPM band and feels like it will turn some decent #'s on the track. Hopefully the track numbers will offset the dyno #'s with good running conditions.

Shorties, cats, stock y is killing it. Not too bad for a small cam.

Thats exactly what bryan had to say, he estimated another 20 with a good exhaust set-up.

This thread should also not discourage anyone from the CC503. Just because the numbers weren't a little higher its not a bad cam. The car really pulls hard, I'm really impressed with the way the car feels. I've driven high horse vettes and this finally has that top-end pull feel. It's not the feel of a 468 rwhp vette but its alot of fun. With a few changes and better climate I wouldn't doubt another 10-15 rwhp. I can't wait to get it on the strip!

a good quality stall has stock like manners until you get on it. Alot of people recommend a Yank 3600 for a weekend cruiser/daily driver. I had a Yank PY3400 with a slightly smaller cam than you and that stall was almost too tight and it would want to push through the brakes at stop signs. If your primary concern is drivability I would still get a stall unless you like shifting into neutral at stop lights and being slower than you could be
