Default 2001 ls1 oil in the intake

i have a 2001 NHRA trans am. i am having oil getting in the intake also in my air lid does anybody know what this can be coming from i am losing oil bad. it is leaking around the intake also the car will run but will not put all the power to the ground no mods besides bolt on it has 127,000 miles on the car has anybody ever had this problem and any suggestions

I would pull the intake clean it, replace the intake gaskets (O rings). Replace the pcv valve and add a catch can to you pcv to catch the oil. Then I would change the spark plugs because you are burning oil if there is that much oil in the intake. Fuel filter change would be a good idea if you haven't done that in a while.

I know in my old engine before she drank more water than a fish, my rings on cylinder 7 were shot. This allowed a lot of blow-by and pressure into the crank, which then blew that into my PCV system shoving oil into the intake. This also allowed blow-by into the combustion chamber and with the very large cam and natural EGR, put some of the oil back into the intake. I found a 3 step injection cleaner at the parts store that worked VERY well and the inside of the intake looked very clean after running the system. I think it was a Berryman setup or something like that.

thanks i just want to get it fixed i have had the car since i was 17 and am 24 now so i dont want to ever get rid of it how can i tell if one of my rings are shot and i have already replaced the intake gaskets

I'm sorry man, I didn't mean to make you think one of your rings is shot, I was just relating the story on how well that (3) part cleaner did. IF, however, you want to double check, you can do a compression/leak down test.

mabye bad valve seals? Do you ever get a misfire?

i have got a misfire i am still learning about cars i know somethings my check engine light has blinked before but it doesnt anymore can u tell me the valve seals are under the valve covers im sure replace the one where the crankcase is or both also i read something about that that if one is bad it will cause u to get a lot of oil in your intake

the car does not misfire now but does not run with all the power im thinking bc oil in getting into the intake i have an email it is jlangley0421@gmail.com you can email me some more suggestions there if u would like i just want to get it fixed so i can be back on the road racing those weak mustangs
