my check engine light on and show bad egr valve, we dont have emission here, so its ok to leave it out bad like that ? I dont want block it off or anything, does it effect engine performing or damage engine or gas miles ? thanks

They can give bad gas mileage. Why not block it off if you don't have emissions.

EGR's have a diaphragm in them that eventually ruptures. When it does, the valve doesn't work, and you now have a vacuum leak. Either replace it, or block it. Also, be sure to check the vacuum line going to it first, make sure that the problem isn't in the vacuum line and not the valve itself.

Most people just go buy a rubber freeze plug from autozone and stick it in the hole costs 8 bucks and works great. i cant remember the exact size tho

Its an lt1... no rubber plug. You need a block off plate

their is little vacum line to the EGR. what I need to use to block it ?

you can get rubber vacuum caps from any parts store, or you can take the low tech approach and stick a screw in the line. The cap looks better.

You can get the EGR delete plates on ebay for like $7. I just put some on a LT1 about a month ago.

Pro is you won't be recycling exhaust gas back through the cylinders. It's done to cool combustion temp to reduce NOx emissions. Con is, you won't pass smog....period.
