Looks it's running the 6-pot CTSV brakes up front.

Front fascia looks good and aggro under the net.

Million dollar question now is PRICE.

I thought the same thing. My guess is that there are a few prototypes with different engine and transmission combos. I suppose there may be a LS7 and a LS9 prototype. I assume there also has to be a LSA/6MT prototype. Or maybe the General just wanted to let us all know what's up.:D

Yeah but like someone else said whats this thing gonna sticker for. A loaded SS is about 42K and change. We could easily be lookin at a near $60K dollar car or better.

They did this with the pre-pro's back in 07 and 08 too. It has something to do with the test drivers I think. This way they know what to report on after driving.

I'd say $8k more over a SS1 Model. Fully loaded would tip the scales at $50k. That's my prediction. I can't see it costing more than a CTS-V.

The 575 HP supercharged SS in some show rooms are going for $65k-$71K right now. Dealer here on the corner has a Black 2SS supercharged 575hp all decked out $72k out the door.

Yeah if you buy the 4k 21 inch rim option LOL...which is retarded IMO.

The 2SS starts at 34k. The 2SS comes with the boston acoustics stereo and leather obviously. Only other thing some would want to add is stripes and the RS package which is another 2k.

Your not going to spend much more than 38k OTD on a 2010 camaro unless you pick every little option you can find. (GM performance exhaust, subwoofer, 21 inch rims etc). This is not even considering certain discounts etc...a loaded 2ss is not going to cost you anywhere near 42k in most situations. The AVERAGE 2SS is going to cost you 36-38k OTD. Even cheaper with discounts.

The Z28 will be priced comparable to the GT500. Maybe 1-2k more....just like the GT and SS. Why wouldnt this be the case? We will be looking at 50-52k starting in 2012 is my guess. Dont forget the GT500 has a performance package that is 3k (bringing the price to 53k)...which is something GM doesnt do lately....so who knows what the base price will be/what will be included etc?

A little side note. The base price of 31k for a 1SS in 2010/2011 is cheaper than the base price for the z28 in 2002 when adjusted for inflation. The car is a better deal than it has ever been. Especially considering what you are getting. The base z28 in 2002 didnt come with nearly as many features as the 5th gen.

I've seen some on autotrader for around 34-35K, but they usually have some mileage on them for that price. Brand new at that price, its gonna be stripped down pretty good and your probably gonna have to order it. This is the car you see in the paper to get you in the door and its conveniently sold when you get there. I'm not buying a stripped down anything, for one I would put my money down on your looking at $38K easy and im not an every option kinda guy. I could care less about heated leather seats. So I'll go along with your average of 36-38K OTD with discounts. A loaded 2SS is going to cost you 42K in just about every situation around here. Every lot I have been to has had more than there share of them. Not saying you can't get a discount here and there but a fully loaded one is every bit of 42K without one.

Now the Z28 for 50-52K? Ain't no way in hell, and certainly not for the first year. This is the first Camaro to hit the market with a supercharger from the factory so right there means the first ones out the gate are going to be outrageous. I wouldn't be surprised to see this batch sticker for 65K or better. After things calm down I'd say 57K-60K. This car is squarely aimed at the Cobra. But the catch is its gonna pack more HP with an independent rear suspension and thats how they'll justify the extra cost over the cobra.

No way. My car cost $36,325.00, that's a 2SS/RS with a sunroof. There really isn't any other options I could get other than stripes, GFX and wheels which are all add on's. My car has leather, heated seats, iPod hook up, BA sound system, and blue tooth. 40K for an SS is ridiculous. The only way to pay that much is with 21" wheels and ground effects or paying a 4K dealer premium. Unless you live in Canada I call BS.

The 7 2ss/rs I was looking at last week were all at a 39,800+ range Pre-dealer mark up. The highest was one dealer wanting 42k for a yellow/black striped 2ss.

ive seen one SS that was almost 42k. it was one i test drove. it did have that $4600 rim and tire package. its still at that dealer and its been at least 6 months. theyll need to take 5k off that car before id even consider buying it. even the salesmen said it was a ripoff.

I'm amazed they were still trying to charge mark-up. Every dealer I pass I see plenty of Camaros sitting on the lot.

Leaving dealer markups out the equation, I'd say the best bet on price is $45-52K like Ultra said. The CTS-V coupe, which is pretty much the same car with better amenities, is going to sticker at $62-65K. The Z/28 would have to be significantly less than that. Sure, the first batch of idiots will come along and pay $75K to have the first few Z/28s, like the fools who paid $50-55K when the SS first came out. After that, I'd say mid-forties to low-fifties.

Calling BS on who? A spank brand new loaded SS with the wheel upgrade is $42K. Thats why I said loaded. If you found a deal im happy for you but don't be neive. You ain't gonna get that deal on every lot. And from the looks of the other posts there are plenty of other dealers still playing the mark up game. That explains why there are plenty of camaros still sitting on the lots. Anything more than 37K imo is a rip off.

I think 45-52K is still low. Without the mark up I think your still looking at mid 50's.

I didn't get a deal, that's the sticker price. If you pay over sticker then that's your fault, not GM's. Anyone can get that deal. Paying over sticker is just plain stupid. To say brand new at 34-35K gets you a stripped down Camaro is just not true and that's what you stated. You call the car a rip off by using false information. Since when does dealer options make a car loaded. I have always known "loaded" to mean with all the factory options on the car. Ground effects and 4K wheels are all dealer options. You are narrow minded when it comes to the actual cost of this car.

Hmm. This is confusing news to me... I was under the impression that they were waiting until the alpha platform to release the z/28. Its still good news to hear if they can keep the car priced around 50k like the gt500(it's targeted competition). The 6 speed auto will make buying this car over a gt500 a much easier decision for a lot of people. The only tough decision in buying this car is if people will really want a z/28 camaro over a corvette..

Whatever man, you seem to argue any point you can. I know my dealer has at least 8 2010's and all are at MSRP. I know there are plenty of dealers marking up the price and anyone who pays that is an idiot. You must live in an expensive neighborhood. :eyes:

There was some confusion because whoever at GM (I forgot his name) talked about the 6th gen and the Z28 in the same statement and people interpreted it as the Z28 being a 6th gen. Z28 should be a 2012 and get the new interior, 6th gen should be out around 2015 with a genV DI small block.

Doesn't matter really if it's the new Z28 or whatever. Cause you can still buy an SS
and just add a HTV2300 and make 575 rwhp and 550 rwtq if you want to. Plus "Ultimate Performance, Inc" makes a killer single turbo that puts the turbo were the stock air box resides. So its all good. But i hope its a Z :)

I know the SS i test drove had every option available last November cost $36,600.
The only extra cost was the dealer installed high flow catback.

That's true, even SLP makes pretty much a "Z28" package in the ZL575 so it's nothing new. But it's still the same old story. You can build an SS to beat a Z28 at less of the cost but at the end of the day it still isn't a Z28. That's why people will buy these cars.

Thats very true. When i bought a new '99 Camaro SS M6 i knew it was a Z28 but i
still bought the car anyway. And i know if i had the money for a new Z28 i will do what i can to get one :) I can't even imagine just how bad ass the supercharged Z would look, feel, and sound like!!! I know how sweet the SS was when i test drove one last october. I was shocked just how solid the car felt. I drove the six speed version and couldn't believe just how great the stock clutch and shifter felt. I wish i could have driven the SS with the dealer installed high flow catback. When i stopped to look at an Imperial Blue SS A6 it had the dealer installed catback and it sounded bad ass. I loved the popping sound thru the exhaust since it was night and a little chilly so the motor was cold started so the idle and rev sounded mean :) I love the SS everytime i drive one. I want one bad, but i'd still keep my '02 SS A4 as well of course. Hopefully someday.

For all the lame dealers that will price gouge, there will be cool ones online that sell them for sticker... Can't wait to see what they do at the track.

I wish it would hurry up and get here so a price will be released. Only problem i have is spending 50k. At sub 50k you can get a LOW milage z06.

im still gonna hold out. been a long wait for this z28 to come out. at 45k ill buy one. 50 to 55k im gonna have to lean towards a zo6.

Still looks like crap. It might outrun the GT500, but in looks it doesn't compare. I was actually disappointed it didn't come out this year, so I was forced to go buy the 2011 Shelby and wait for the Z28 next year, even though it is dog ugly
