Default I think i have found the issue!

well i checked my fuel pressure for the second time and it sat at 40 lbs of pressure and didnt move up or down with reving. then once i killed the car or it died. the pressure dropped down to 5 lbs. then when i turn the key on and of just to let the pump run it only went up to 10#'s of pressure. so ill be changing it out tomorrow.

well i cut the access panel out and i love it. the car starts up better and normal driving is ok but once i get on the gas it bangs out and wont take gas. the new used fuel pump holds pressure at 50 pounds with key off and doesnt seep down.aslo it will rev up fine then wait a few secs and it wont. then the process starts over. and how do you put the casing on the fuel pump back together? than maybe my problem.

you might have to cut the top abit to fit the pump to the plate. but it should just all go back together the same way it came apart

If it's the Opti it should throw some resolution codes. If i am understanding you corredtly it will idle after restart, but it dies after yuo try to rev it? or does it just sputter like its choking?

sputter like its choking and it will sit there and idle just fine and all the sudden just die and it will start right back up.

Have you had a scanner on it to see what the sensors are seeing?

Pay attention to the TPS make sure it moves smoothly through the range and not justjump around, this would apply to the MAP and the MAF as well. Any codes thrown?
