Drag Racing Tech - Track times!

I took my car to the track (for the first time) and only ran 8.8 shifting normally, missed third :bang: and coasted a decent amount of track.. My other two runs I spun forever off the start and were completely worthless. Spare, jack, and rear seats were removed and I only had about 1/8th a tank of gas. Kinda disappointed but maybe it being my first time at the track on a hot humid day with traction issues had something to do with it lol. What are you guys thoughts?

My car is a 2001 Trans Am m6 with a lid, P&P TB and MAF, lt's, ory, lm1, and a tune. Stock size street tires.

Keep workin at it, you've got a lot more left in it...half a second or more in the 1/8 without question. When I had my CAI/catback/tune 6-spd LT1 i was in the 8.3s in the 1/8 on street tires.

Yeah I agree with 94z, on streets you should be bale to knock down 8.3 to 8.5. Better weather and more seat time should do the trick.
