oil pressure problem

Default oil pressure problem

I have a 5.3 swap in my GN. motor has LS6 heads cam and intake, had 53K on it before swap. re-used my stock oil pump.

Last night the oil pressure was around 20 at idle and didnt pick up much after I gave it gas. but after I let out to coast to a stoplight, it would dip down to 0 then back up to about 10. My oil pan is full of clean oil, could my oil pump be going bad? what are the symptoms of a bad pump? I have a mechanical gauge as well, its brand new and reads the pressure from the location of the stock electric sender.

I had a similar issue and a new oil pressure sending unit fixed the problem

found out what it was. oil pickup tube screen was completely clogged with ****. must have happened from tapping my oil pan for a return feed line. cleaned it out and am gonna upgrade to an LS6 pump to be safe.
