Default wheel/tire setup causing abs inop and brake light to go off

I just put on c6 z06 deep dish 275/40/17 and 295/45/18 in the rear on stock ride height and its causing the abs inop. and brake light to go off.. what can I do? Or is something else the cause of this?

If there is a minimal difference in tire height from front to rear it will cause your ABS INOP/Brake light to come on. Not much you can do about it unless you want to remove the bulb from your dash. I don't think that can be tuned out. It won't affect driving at all, just will be annoying on your dash. Just the price you have to pay when you're running bigger tires in the rear.

You could always just delete the ABS system all together. with your tires being that different, it may actually effect your braking. I know when i first picked up my car, the front sensors were bad, so the ABS would try to fight me. I only have a 275/40-18 on the rear of mine.

Youre rear tire should be a 295/35R18 . . . it is too tall. The OD of the front and rear tires needs to be close to the same size or you get what happened.

exactly, and in the mean time your abs won't work if you need it so be careful in rain and such.

That sucks, so essentially I have to drive around like this until I wear these tires out and replace them with some with less side wall? what if the lower the car all around? or is that a bad idea

Yep, happened to me when i threw DR's on my car. hated driving around without ABS but you get used to it. I'd try and sell the rear tires asap. Lowering the car? Good idea but it wont give you your ABS back.
BTW Camaro395 that avatar pic ROCKS, what are those 315's on the Cobra?

lowering the car will make it look better but the abs light and inoperability is due to the difference in height between front and rear tires, that throws the computer off and it isn't able to operate the abs properly.

FYI . . . That cannot be your problem . . . the tires you list have the EXACT same overall diameter . . . . 25.7 inches . . .
