Default Another 5.3 t76 notch

ive been building this car for almost a year now, and i figured id finally make a thread. 87 notch, manual windows/locks/mirrors, non a/c car, 60k miles. i got it as a roller, and it was hit hard before. so we cut the car apart ...

i wanted to have a smoothed engine bay, so now was the perfect time to do all the welding and such. i wish i could take credit for the metal work but i work at a body shop and my friends took care of that for me !

and, we painted the engine bay white.

the motor is a 5.3 with 40k. it got the following ...

Katech Rod Bolts
F-Body pick up / oil pan
Pat G Spec'd Turbo Cam 222/226 .599"/.598" 116+4
Texas Speed 7.4' Pushrods
Stock 5.3 heads, Mildly touched up
Felpro MLS Gaskets
ARP Head Bolts
Comp 918 Springs
Edelbrock Victor Jr & Elbow

and we painted the motor up ..

thats pretty much where im at now. i have the front suspension ready to go in, strange brakes. im still up in the air on wheels, and i still have to do the rear end and suspension. its going to be a slow build, but im shooting to be finished by spring time.. thanks for looking..

I like the three strengthening ribs that they placed on the forward fill panels. That's unique!

Its just base/clear. We have done it before on other engine parts with good results. So we'll see how it works out on my actual car.

Thanks. That was one of my friends ideas and im glad we did it. Sets of this smoothed engine bay from the rest. Also why we boxed the frame rails and the sway bar mounts (nuts are welded on the inside)

The Notch is gone in favor of the Faimont?
Both sweet cars, though I wouldve kept the Notch, I'm pretty fond of them BUT the Fairmont isnt a very common car and still bad *** especially swapped with an LS based motor.
Looking forward to the build.

Like said, you still going with the 5.3?

No it won't...he'll either sell it halfway through the build despite all his friends bending over backwards to help him on it again...or take it completely apart and lose interest...right Sean?

If anyone cares, the Mustang went back to a good home, however, it's receiving a Ford drivetrain now...and I think that 5.3 is going into a G-Body.
