its a regular tire, but i found out its designed for lighter cars. the load rating is only 1178lbs per tire, which should be fine. its the speed rating that did it. its only an s which is for bursts of 112mph...i average 110 in the 1/4 so...

Those numbers referenced can be thrown out the window when people inflate a tire out of spec. Many overinflate them to make the car not look like its running flat and decrease rolling resistance.
Word of caution is use the correct parts for the task at hand. It can end up costing more in the end and take unnecessary risks to yourself, your car or another obsticle on the road.

did it actually scratch or take the paint off? if it's just like rubber marks that will come off but if it scratched it or dented it then yeah, that sucks... either way it sucks but the rubber residue should come off with some goo gone or something like that...

I'm happy to hear no one was injured. Looks like there's quite a bit of damage on the fender.

yup, forgot about that. that is another reason why this happened. the tire pressure was around 42 at the time. so it probably went over the max of 44 once it heated up. combined with the high speed and heat was enough. well ya live and learn. either way i wont be using thos again now that i know all of this
